Friends of Muriel Leff Mini Park

After many meetings, we have decided to apply for a Community Opportunity Fund grant (due on 6/24/11).

We will be requesting funds to connect the pathway around the park so that it will be a full loop. Our hope is that this will allow more people to enjoy the park!

We would love your support. Join our Google Group and email us to learn more.

The Friends continue to meet to discuss ideas for park improvements. Email sojure@sfnpc.org if you are interested in learning more.

Some ideas that group may seek funding for in 2011 include:

-completing the pathway loop so pedestrians and people with strollers can walk around the park easily
-installing a short fence by the sidewalk so that kids aren't able to run into the street
-installing functional art that recalls the history of the site and adds interest/beauty
-planting native plants and herbs
-creating a zen garden
-installing solar lamps

Have an idea? Join the group and share!

Muriel Leff Mini Park at 7th & Anza is a wonderful neighborhood resource. While the park is already a great green space, a few community members have begun thinking of ways that it could be even better. Over the past two years, volunteers have made small improvements at the park through workdays so that it can better serve the community. Now we're hoping to get more community members involved in this effort!

Wed. October 20th, 2010: 6pm
Richmond Police Station Community Room
461 6th Avenue

Join us on Wednesday, October 20th at 6pm to share your park improvement ideas and learn how to get involved in making your local park better.

Hello friends,

The worst of the rainy season is finally over! The sun is back out, and the temperature is slowly rising. As we enter the summer, let's go back to Muriel Leff Mini Park and make sure the park is ready to shine along with the sun. On May 22nd, from 9am to noon, we'll meet at the park to slap a fresh coat of paint on the kiosk, the benches and other wooden features at the park. Consider it a "summer makeover" for this lovely little park.  Hope to see you all there!

On Saturday, March 20th, about 12 volunteers came out to Muriel Leff Mini Park on 7th Avenue between Geary and Anza to beautify and spruce up their neighborhood park. Check out photos from the workday here. To participate in this park group's efforts, please visit http://murielleffpark.weebly.com

Join us as we help spruce up the park with some cleanup and gardening work. We'll meet at the park at 9am and work until around noon. No need to bring anything. We'll have gloves and equipment, as well as snacks for some energy. Just remember to bring comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. You can register here.

    Register for the workday here:
